My story
I'm not sure how I came to be in this situation but there was something wrong with my eyes. I was crying as I couldn't see properly and I had no idea where my mum was. I was only small. A kind lady picked me up and took me to the local vet, where they prescribed eye drops. I spent a few days going from house to house while the lady and others searched for a foster home for me. After about a week I found myself in another home and I was taken to a different vet. By now my eyes had worsened - one in particular - but there was hope that the other eye could be saved. Unfortunately, it was not to be, and after a week or so I scared my new keepers half to death when they walked in and found me distressed and disoriented, bleeding from both eyes. Fast-forward a very difficult time trying to organise the inevitable operation I needed, but it soon became urgent. I had to have a heart ultrasound first but I freaked out so much in the carrier with my cone on that I ripped my ear and was completely traumatised.
Against all odds, the day of my operation could not have gone better and both of my eyes were taken out. What a relief!
I have since heard about the first cat with no eyes who came to live here. He was much smaller than me when he was found with both of his eyes popping out of his head, and he was operated on. His name was Opus, and he, like many others, is sorely missed.

Me after I arrived. My eyes were so bad we don't want to see them.
Life today
I never would have believed it had someone told me I'd feel better once my eyes had been taken away! Apart from the obligatory cone of shame I had to wear, I was already much calmer when I came home after the operation. I am now footloose and cone-free - and I love life! I have so many toys to play with and every day I'm meeting new residents. I even met a strange big thing that panted all over me. I soon learned that this was 'Dog', also known as 'Leia'. There are all sorts of strange creatures here!
My future
I think my future is bright and filled with all the colours of the rainbow.
Stats
I haven't been neutered yet as I'm too young, but in the meantime I have been vaccinated.
Star Qualities
I'm so fluuuuuuufy! I'm black and white but my tail is a quirky shade of black and grey.
Habits
I like standing on my back feet and pretending I'm a meerkat. I like to run away from people when they come near and make them run around the room to try and catch me. You know what they say: girls just wanna have fun :)
